In the world of medical technologies and life sciences the use of bonded and painted multi-material parts is playing a continuously increasing role. In addition to optimizing product properties, cost savings and new or stricter regulations such as environmental protection also have an impact on production requirements.
Changes on the raw material manufacturer's or on the approval side significantly influence the subsequent processes. This can have far-reaching consequences for the bonding process involved and the quality of the bonded joint. Openair-Plasma® technology activates, cleans and functionalizes surfaces and thus expands the possible combinations of material and adhesive.
In this PlasmaTalk, Erhard Krampe, Manager for Technology Transfer and Knowledge Exchange, will present innovative applications of plasma pretreatment. The practical examples given will include the preparation of an abrasion-resistant print as well as the use of activated standard silicone in place of self-adhesive silicone. The use of PEEK instead of titanium is also coming within practical reach thanks to plasma technology.
This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers, process engineers and operators of production equipment in industrial processes.
The PlasmaTalk will run for appr. 40 - 60 min. including FAQs. If you have a specific problem or question, please send your question in advance to academy@plasmatreat.com and we will be happy to include it into the program.
